As part of their graduate exams, the High-Level Tibetan Buddhism College of China held debates at the Xihuang Temple, Beijing on May 16.

A total of 12 student monks, five from the Gelug sect and seven from the Nyingma sect, will participate in the degree-earning exams that will see impassioned debate on Buddhist scripture and doctrine.

The exams will include five days of debates on Buddhist scripture and one day of Buddhist theory defense.
