With a theme of “Luckily you came,” the sixth apricot competition was held in an orchard in Kuqa County, Northwest China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region on June 28, 2017. Farmers from all of the county’s 14 towns brought some 20 kinds of apricots to participate in the event. Chili-shaped apricots attracted much attention from tourists and won the third prize. Note: the word “apricot” in Chinese sounds like “lucky.”
