A crane operator, Dmitry Balandin, built a robot family from 1,750 parts in 18 months without using blueprints. Balandin would love to build metal models but it is not possible to do in his small apartment. He developed an interest in models as a child and hopes to have his robot family displayed at exhibitions and galleries. Photos: Gleb Garanich /CFP
