Editor's Note:
China-EU relations were highlighted by the fifth China-EU Business Summit held Monday in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. As the EU has just approved the Treaty of Lisbon November 1, and elected its first "president" and "foreign policy chief" November 19, some are pointing to a new era of closer unity, especially over foreign policy.
Will there be any changes in China-EU ties? What are the relations between China, the EU and the US? The following is an interview by Global Times (GT) reporters Wang Yuan and Wei Lai with Wu Yikang (Wu), chairman of Chinese Society for EU Studies, Ding Yuanhong (Ding), former Chinese ambassador to the EU, and Gustaaf Geeraerts (Geeraerts), director at Brussels Institute of Contemporary Studies.
