A resulting question worth considering is that the Chinese government should learn how to deal with Obama.

Before Obama visited China, some people pointed out that Obama is good at putting on a show and China should be careful not to be deceived.

While dealing with Obama, China should be ready for the worst situation, because he is too good at performing. It is difficult to determine whether he is acting or not. Bush's directness is rare now.

China's rapid and firm response to US arms sales to Taiwan is the correct choice. The Chinese government itself should review its policies.

Faced with a US president who excels in ambiguity and is good at putting on a show, the Chinese government should make its stance clear and do it in a more proactive manner.

This is especially important when Obama uses beguiling rhetoric to depict Sino-US relations. Obama's motives underlying the rhetoric should be laid bare.
