GT: Some forecast that the Internet will ultimately replace the print media? Do you agree? To what extent will the Internet influence print media in the next decade?
Li: I noticed two interesting phenomena during a visit to the US in 2009. First, major US newspapers became thinner. Besides the impact of the Internet, the economic crisis has probably been a reason too.
Second, while giving an interview to the Wall Street Journal, I found that many questions were posed by people online.
In this sense, the Internet provides a new chance for the development of traditional print media. Many newspapers and magazines have their own websites on which they simultaneously publish information and interact with readers online. Such integration began four or five years ago.
Through the Internet, print media has found more readers and delivered more content in an efficient way.
