According to some American military observers, only 20 percent of China's military aircraft are on a level with those in the West.

Just as the US air force is evolving into a "space and air force," the future of China's air force largely hinges on how far it can go in terms of "air and space integration."

Efforts should be made to boost its capabilities with advanced aviation and space technology.

When it comes to aerial warfare, numerous modern instances demonstrate that the best defense is a good offense.

That is why China's air force is also boosting its ability to conduct large-scale and concentrated air attacks. If China's territory is invaded, the offending country will be turned into a battlefield.

"The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting," the traditional Chinese wisdom goes.

The security of the hard-earned fruits of China's labor in the past six decades depends on the maintaining of peaceful skies over our heads.
