Why they care about those separatists

Toward this end, the Chinese government has been paying ever greater attention to this region since last year. It has mobilized the forces of 19 provinces and municipalities to support Xinjiang's economic, social and cultural development, and notified preferential tax and investment policies to give a boost to business.

The people of Xinjiang are looking forward to an upswing similar to that of Shenzhen, the frontier city that piloted the China's reform and opening-up 30 years ago.

China has been unwavering in its stance against separatist and terrorist activities. It will resolutely crack down on any criminal act under China's laws and the Constitution. The reason is simple: No stability, no prosperity.
