Dealing with a smarter US after Iraq

China should remain focused in its own domestic and international goals and a strategic confrontation between the US and China will not surface.

China should endeavor to enhance its overall national strength, which is a prerequisite for the country to deal with a variety of strategic risks in the future.

China should help the US understand that it will not challenge the US in the near future, and the US should in turn leave China adequate space for its own development.

China should extend its congratulations to the US for the end of its combat mission in Iraq. Meanwhile, it is expecting Americans' blessings toward its peaceful rise.
