• A Panda's Growth
  • Employees at the Taipei Zoo recently released a series of photos chronicling the birth of its latest edition, giant panda cub Yuan Zai. The first of proud mother Yuanyuan and father Tuantuan, this adorable female cub is the first giant panda born in Taiwan. Yuan Zai is more than a small victory considering the difficulty of breeding pandas in captivity in addition to their small breeding window. Yuanyuan was artificially inseminated earlier this year. The two parent pandas were presented as gifts to Taiwan from the Chinese mainland in late December of 2008. Photos: Chinanews.com
