In-depth co-op, exchanges expected in cross-Strait economic relations

Yesterday, Yang Yi, spokesman of the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office expressed at a regular press conference, "the mainland has held a positive attitude on the mutual establishment of institutions between the Straits Relationship Association and the Straits Communication Fund Association at all times. As long as both sides believe that the time and conditions are right, the mainland is willing to start negotiations."
As for the issue of signing the cross-strait economic cooperation framework agreement (ECFA), Yang Yi said, "China's attitude is positive and open. China will fully consider the reasonable requests of the Taiwan side, taking care of the interests of Taiwan compatriots and showing our goodwill. When this consultation will start depends on the preparation situation and will be discussed by the two associations."
According to the latest news from Taiwan's economy department, the fastest schedule for the permission of mainland's capital entering Taiwan is June. Thus, the most important issue in that the cross-Strait economic exchanges will be solved.
