Live in China, test-drive BYD

I first came to Xi'an in 2004 to assist in the ramp-up of an R&D centre for a German semiconductor company. I am now the Managing Director of Apri Ponte Consulting (Xi'an) Co. Ltd., a consulting company with offices in Germany and the United Kingdom.

Last year 9.34 millions automobiles were manufactured in China. Chinese manufacturers have started exporting cars to Africa, the Middle East and Russia. I know that BYD has a manufacturing plant in Xi’an and plans to open a second plant in the city.

For me driving means convenience and freedom – the freedom to travel when and where I want. I have had just two minor accidents since I started driving. However, alas, I have never driven a Chinese car.
