Prior to this year's Teachers' Day in September, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao spent half a day at a local junior high. His speech was later released by official news services. In a nut shell, he said the education system needed to adapt to the new requirements of our time.

I am under no delusion that I'll be able to help fix the system unless genuine sarcasm is called for. But being a product of the system myself, I guess I've earned the right to comment.
