Twin pandas born in the US have still not developed a strong taste for 'Chinese food' since they arrived in Sichuan Province earlier this month.

Meilun and Meihuan, twin sisters born in July, 2013 at the Atlanta Zoo, have been slowly adjusting to their new home at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.

But researchers said the picky pair had turned up their snouts at the steamed corn breads (wotou) they've been served after a eating steady diet of 'American-style' biscuits back in the US.

"It hasn't been easy feeding them local food," Luo Yunhong, a keeper at the research base, told Chengdu Business Daily.

"The ingredients are the same, but they still prefer the flavor of biscuits to wotou," he said.

Luo said he is gradually weaning them off the biscuits to get them on a wotou diet.

Meihuan has been taking to the new taste, but her little sister Meilun is still cookie fan.
