Trade volume between Cambodia and China was valued at $5.8 billion in 2017, up 22 percent from $4.76 billion a year earlier, Cambodian Minister of Commerce Pan Sorasak said on Thursday.

"The Cambodia-China trade volume has increased rapidly, an average of 26 percent a year, in the last decade," the minister said. Cambodia imported products such as garment raw materials, machinery and cosmetics from China.

On the investment side, Sorasak said China is the largest investor in Cambodia. According to a report from the Council for the Development of Cambodia, the Southeast Asian nation had received fixed-asset investment of $12.6 billion from China between 1994 and 2017.
