An outer wall of a building in Shenzhen, South China's Guangdong Province is covered with hundreds of photos of smiling faces belonging to people all around the world. But residents said it is scary to look at it at night.

The building is located at a digital cultural creative park in Shenzhen, and is unfinished, so the administrative office of the park hung photos on the wall to cover holes, a staff member told the Pear Video.

Video posted by the Pear Video shows that the wall is mainly pink. Many pictures of domestic and foreign people are on the wall, all of whom are smiling.

The pictures cover windows, but there are unfinished buildings with many holes on the wall.

Some nearby residents complained that these photos of smiling faces seem scary at night.

"They always remind me of a cemetery. Photos of human faces are listed in a row on the tombstones," one of the residents said. "Especially at night, when the light shines, all these faces are lit up, which is more terrifying."

The staff members at the park said that they hung the photos for security and beauty, and no one has complained to them directly until recently.

Weibo users agreed with residents of the scary photos. "They can change to cartoon pictures or just white paper, which is less horrifying," a netizen wrote.
