US soprano Renée Fleming wowed the audience as the annual Beijing Music Festival (BMF) wrapped up on Monday night at the Forbidden City Concert Hall.

Performing with the China Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of conductor Yu Long, Fleming performed classic works from Germany, Austria and Italy.

A frequent visitor to China, Fleming said that each time she comes she enjoyed taking time out to explore Chinese cities, because she loves the country's rich culture and beautiful scenery.

During her current visit, the singer released the Chinese edition of her 2004 biography The Inner Voice: the Making of a Singer in Shanghai on Thursday. Additionally, she gave a presentation titled Music and The Mind at Yale Center Beijing that explored the power of music as it relates to "health, including childhood development, music therapy, and discoveries that are changing human beings' understanding of the brain."

A total of 22 performances were held over the 25-day-long BMF.
