 A dog and its master in East China are putting local litter bugs to shame. 

It took the dog owner, Miao Weiping, in Quzhou, Zhejiang Province a year to train his three-year-old pooch. It not only scopes out discarded trash during its walk, it picks up the garbage and disposes of it in the proper bin. 

Miao told Knews that his dog has learned to distinguish recyclable bottles from biodegradable waste. "When it sees a bottle left on the ground, it runs to collect it and then drops it in the trash bin for recyclables," Miao said.

A video posted online shows the dog spotting a half-eaten corn cob that had been tossed in the roadside grass, and picking it up in its mouth. Then it stands on his hindquarters and drops the cob into the bin.
