Ukraine attaches great importance to relations with China and is ready to make joint efforts to bring bilateral ties to a new level, President Volodymyr Zelensky said Tuesday during his meeting with newly-appointed Chinese Ambassador to Ukraine Fan Xianrong.

China boasts solid strength and significant international influence, Zelensky said, adding that Ukraine has a favorable geographical position, a high level of technological and educational development, and outstanding advantages in talent.

Noting that the two countries have a good basis for conducting friendly cooperation, Zelensky proposed to further tap potential for cooperation in infrastructure construction, agriculture, technology and other sectors.

He welcomed Chinese enterprises to invest in Ukraine and promised to make every possible effort to create a favorable business environment for them.

For his part, Fan said that while the China-Ukraine relationship is constantly evolving and great success has been achieved in bilateral cooperation, it still has enormous potential.

Further promoting the strategic partnership between China and Ukraine meets the fundamental interests of the two peoples, he said.

Fan has presented his credentials to Zelensky.
