China's first aircraft independently developed by a private company, the Guanyi GA20, has reportedly completed its strength impact test for seats and seat belts, meaning it has officially begun its strength test.

The test is essential in airplane construction as it tests the safety and reliability of an airplane and is a key procedure to win safety certification before hitting the market.

The company announced recently that the GA20's primary system had been finalized following 121 trial flights, and main equipment for four types of aircraft had been delivered for final assembly, domestic news site thepaper.cn reported on Monday.

GA20 is a four-seat, general purpose, single propeller-driven aircraft developed by Guanyi General Aviation, a private company based in Shanghai.

According to the chief engineer, the fuel-efficient aircraft has a maximum flying range of 1,200 kilometers and maximum speed of 360 kilometers per hour, the Xinhua News Agency reported.

The company began developing the aircraft in 2015 and has established its general aviation industrial base in the Nanchang High-tech Zone in East China's Jiangxi Province. It plans an annual output of 200 aircraft by 2022, Xinhua reported.
