Afghanistan reports 658 new COVID-19 cases, 11,831 in total

Afghanistan on Tuesday reported 658 new COVID-19 within the past 24 hours, bringing the national tally to 11,831, the country's Ministry of Public Health confirmed.

"A total of 1,152 suspected cases were tested within the past 24 hours, out of which 658 cases were tested positive COVID-19," the ministry said in a statement.

A total of 220 deaths have been recorded since the outbreak in February, including one death within the past 24 hours.

Thirty-one people were considered recovered during the period of time, taking to 1,128 the number of recovered people, statistics showed.

The ministry had conducted 32,870 tests since February, according to statistic of the public health ministry.
