The Beijing Performance & Arts Group livestreamed a performance through seven Chinese news sites on Monday to mark Children's Day.

The livestream started with a song and dance performance in which the performers were joined by Chinese children from around the world.

The show also featured storytelling performances of classic Chinese tales at online camps hosted by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. More than 12,000 children have taken part in these camps, where they have listened to more than 200 classic stories from Chinese culture.

Adapted from the classic story of the Monkey King, the Magic Trip program presents the story from the perspective of a child using puppets and acrobatics.

Other highlights of the first-of-its-kind show amid the COVID-19 pandemic include a chorus and drum perfomrance.
