The wearable device market has witnessed a rising market competition as in one week, several giants having launched their wearable devices in the market.

US-listed smart wearable devices maker Huami Technology launched two smart wrist bands, Amazfit GTR 2 and Amazfit GTS 2, on Tuesday, with both products having diamond-like screen coatings as hard as sapphire.

Both products are upgraded in health monitoring and management capabilities as they are equipped with blood oxygen saturation detection and 24-hour heart rate monitoring, which can present more accurate health data.

At launch conference, Huami Technology CEO Huang Wang said in the first half of the year, the global shipments of Amazfit brand watches reached 1.74 million units, a year-on-year increase of 48 percent, ranking fifth in the world. The sales volume of Xiaomi bracelets reached 13.4 million units, ranking first in the world.

Huami is not alone. Apple launched Apple Watch SE on September 15, offering robust health and safety capabilities including fall detection, Emergency SOS, international emergency calling, and the Noise app.

In August, Huawei launched its new smartwatch Watch Fit. It can also support weather, heart rate, oxygen saturation, menstrual period, steps, sleep and other data detection and reminders.

IDC data shows that global wearable device shipments reached 340 million units in 2019, a sharp increase year-on-year, and it is brought by the efforts from smart watches, smart bracelets, and continuous blood glucose monitoring systems. In the first quarter of 2020, the global wearable device market shipped 72.6 million units, a year-on-year increase of 29.7 percent.

In the second quarter of 2020, China's wearable device market shipped 26.58 million units, an increase of 4.1 percent year-on-year, IDC said.
