The 6th Intermedia Art Festival held its opening event on Friday in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang Province. The festival aims to explore the potential of cross-media arts to shape the future as well as seek out cross-field development opportunities between media and art, culture and society.

Taking "Near Future: Possible Life" as its theme for 2020, the festival kicked off with an opening show that integrated exciting elements such as virtual audiovisual and laser lighting effects in an installed media space close to the bank of Ningbo's Dongqian Lake.

Six designed sections such as the International Cross-media Art Invitation Exhibition and the Open Media Lab Show are displaying artworks ranging from experimental cross-media works and young artists' video works to artistic pieces created by international artists. These works will be shown to visitors at two major exhibition areas - the Hanling Exhibition Area and the Dongqianhu Education Forum Zhang Yonghe Artist Studio Community Exhibition Area.

The festival is scheduled to end on November 10.
