Display: Cross-Straits calligraphy exhibition opens in Fujian

A Calligraphy Exhibition of the Youth across the Taiwan Straits, which is jointly organized by the Chinese Calligraphers Association and the Taiwan Standard Cursive Hand Association, kicked off on Sunday in the Youth Center of Zhangzhou, Fujian Province.

People of the calligraphy circle gathered happily together in the exhibition to share their ideas on calligraphy in a bid to promote traditional culture.

Wu Junhong, director of the Taiwan Standard Cursive Hand Association, said, "We came here to communicate with each other. Let's appreciate and absorb advantages of each other. Let's work together to carry forward the traditional culture and I hope we can spread the art of calligraphy across the world."

There were 230 works of calligraphy exhibited in the exhibition, 67 of them from Taiwan.

The exhibition was intended for promoting the exchanges and cooperation among the youth across the Taiwan Straits, thus to achieve a better understanding of the long history of Chinese culture for the young people.
