China's Korean ethnic minority has its own culture complete with folk customs, song and dances, and sports. The Yanbian Korean Autonomous prefecture in the northeastern Jilin Province is doing its best to keep the culture alive in the younger generation.

The students are learning a Korean song.

Ten percent of the students at the Henan Primary School are ethnic Korean.

Henan Primary is just one of the 273 elementary and middle schools which teaches the ethnic Korean history, customs and culture.

China's Korean ethnic minority has its own culture complete with folk customs, song and dances, and sports.

Zhang Zhengqin, a Han student, said, "From learning I know the Korean ethnic group is good at singing and dancing and is very polite."

Students learn Korean etiquette, how to play traditional instruments, and sports like the see-saw and swing.

Experts have been commissioned to compile a textbook on the history of the Korean ethnic group.

Students in the prefecture's middle schools will use it in the new semester starting in September.
