A cargo plane downed on Wednesday near Brazzaville, the capital of the Republic of Congo, killing six people, according to news reports reaching.

The news reports quoted the transportation ministry of the Republic of Congo as saying that the Antonov 12 cargo plane crashed about an hour after its taking off from Pointe Noire, killing five Ukrainian crew members and one Congolese citizen.

The destination of the cargo plane was Brazzaville, the news reports said.

An investigation into the cause of the crash has been underway.
