A burglar named Qin Da in Nandan county, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Re¬gion, was too clever by half after he called police on December 12 to complain that an innocent man, Qin Er, had been nabbed by a resident who said his home had been broken into on December 12.

In fact, Qin Er was Qin Da's partner in crime and had indeed been discovered by the home's resident as Qin Da stood watch outside.

When police arrived they said Qin Da's insistence on Qin Er's innocence was suspicious but what really tied the case up was identical rope on Qin Er's motorcycle and rope found inside the home.
