The International Show of Peace Concert has been rescheduled to October 10 and the venue changed to inside the National Stadium, or Bird's Nest, according to an joint announcement Friday by concert organizers, the Ministry of Culture and the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
According to the announcement, the change of plan is to "ensure the absolute success of the concert."
The concert was originally scheduled for April 17, taking place outside the stadium itself.
Concert publicist Li Xiaohui told the Global Times that not having acquired government authorization for large-scale outdoor assembly that is required by law, the organizers now have to move the concert inside the stadium, which is not available at the moment, hence the postponement.
