Bai Yansong

Bai Yansong, an anchor and journalist at China Central Television, was born in 1968 in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. In 1985, Bai entered Communication University of China and in 1993, he started to work with Oriental Horizon, a CCTV show.  Bai was one of CCTV's major news anchors during the 2000 Sydney Olympics. He was also the face of CCTV during the 2008 Sichuan Earthquake, as he anchored round-the-clock coverage of the event.  Bai hosted the 2009 CCTV New Year Gala, and he received a Lifetime Journalism Achievement Award in 2009.
