An accident on an amusement park ride in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, left six people dead and ten others injured on Tuesday.

An accident on an amusement park ride in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, left six people dead and ten others injured on Tuesday.

Witnesses reported an explosion at the ride, a simulated rocket-launch experience. Most of the dead were killed on the spot.

"It was completely dark in the facility. I don't know exactly what happened," a witness said .

Most of the injured suffered bone fractures and they were rushed to a local hospital.

The amusement park opened last year and the police have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
