Sri Lankan media company attacked, 2 injured

Two employees of a media company were injured Friday morning when the office building of the company were under a petrol bomb attack, local media reported.

The Daily Mirror newspaper said on its website that an armed gang was involved in the attack which caused extensive damage to the building.


"The armed gang had forced the employees to kneel down and later assaulted two of them," said the newspaper.

They later threw petrol bombs inside the office causing fire which was later doused by the fire brigade. Police teams have been deployed to investigate the incident.

Siyatha is operated by Voice of Asia Network (Pvt) Ltd and includes Siyatha FM and Vettri FM.

Official comments on the incident are not available at the moment.
