Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping will attend the opening ceremony of the 2nd World Investment Forum scheduled to be held next week in Xiamen, a port city in east China's Fujian Province, said the Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu Monday.
The forum, which will be on from Sept. 6-9, is sponsored by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
Xi will deliver a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the forum, featuring a theme of "investment and sustainable development".
Delegates from various countries will discuss ways to advance sustainable development and expand cooperation via investment in the post-crisis era, said Jiang.
The first UNCTAD World Investment Forum was held in Ghana in 2008.
