Shanghai-based Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) launched its first overseas office in Los Angeles Monday.

According to COMAC, the Los Angeles office will help to develop the company's overseas market and cooperation with foreign companies.

"Around a dozen major international providers of components for aircraft are based in south California," Jin Zhuang-long, the general manager of COMAC, said Monday. "We will try to build partnerships with well-known manufactur-ers in the US."

According to Jin, COMAC will also launch a number of offices in Europe, with its European headquarters to be located in France.

At the ceremony, Jin said that COMAC has received over 100 orders for its C-919, the largest commercial airliner to have ever been designed and built in China.

Jin added that deliveries are scheduled for 2016.
