
Administrative divisions of Xinjiang
Xinjiang is divided into two prefecture-level cities (Urumqi and Karamay), seven prefectures (Tacheng Prefecture, Aletai Prefecture, Turpan Prefecture, Hami Prefecture, Akesu Prefecture, Kashi Prefecture, Hetian Prefecture), and five autonomous prefectures (Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture, Bo'ertala Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Bayinguoleng Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture and Kezilesu Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture). These are then divided into 11 districts, twenty county-level cities, 62 counties, and six autonomous counties:
Urumqi (ä¹Œé²æœ¨é½å¸‚) has seven city districts and one county: Tianshan city district, Saybagh city district, Xinshi city district, Shuimogou city district, Toutunhe district, Dabancheng district, Midong district and Urumqi county.
Karamay (克拉玛ä¾å¸‚) has four city districts: Qaramay district, Dushanzi district, Baijiantan district and Urho district.
Turpan Prefecture (åé²ç•ªåœ°åŒº) has one city and two counties: Turpan city, Shanshan county and Toksun county.
Hami Prefecture (å"ˆå¯†åœ°åŒº) has one city, one county and one autonomous county: Kumul city (Hami city), Yiwu county and the Barkol Kazakh Autonomous County.
Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture (昌å‰å›žæ—自治州) has two cities, four counties and one autonomous county: Changji city, Fukang city, Hutubi county, Manas county, Qitai county, Jimsar county and the Mori Kazakh Autonomous County.
Bortala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture (åšå°"å¡"拉è'™å¤è‡ªæ²»å·ž) has one city and two counties: Bole city, Jinghe county and Wenquan county.
Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture (å·´éŸ³éƒæ¥žè'™å¤è‡ªæ²»å·ž) has one city, seven counties and one autonomous county: Korla city, Luntai county, Yuli county, Ruoqiang county, Qiemo county, Hejing county, Hoxud county, Bohu county and the Yanqi Hui Autonomous County.
Aksu Prefecture (阿克è‹åœ°åŒº) has one city and eight counties: Aksu city, Wensu county, Kuchar county, Shayar county, Xinhe county, Baicheng county, Wushi county, Awat county and Kalpin county.
Kizilsu Kirghiz Autonomous Prefecture (å…‹åœå‹'è‹æŸ¯å°"å…‹åœè‡ªæ²»å·ž) has one city and three counties: Artux city, Akto county, Akqi county and Ulugqat county.
Kashgar Prefecture (喀什地区) has one city, 10 counties and one autonomous county: Kashgar city, Shufu county, Shule county, Yengisar county, Zepu county, Shache county, Yecheng county, Makit county, Yopurga county, Gashi county, Bachu county and the Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomous County.
Hotan Prefecture (å'Œç"°åœ°åŒº) has one city and seven counties: Hotan city, Hotan county, Moyu county, Pishan county, Lop county, Chira county, Yutian county and Minfeng county.
Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture (伊çŠå"ˆè¨å…‹è‡ªæ²»å·ž) has two cities, seven counties and one autonomous county: Yining city, Kuitun city, Yining county, Huocheng county, Gongliu county, Xinyuan county, Zhaosu county, Tekes county, Nilka county and the Qapqal Xibe Autonomous County.
Tacheng Prefecture (å¡"城地区) has two cities, four counties and one autonomous county: Tacheng city, Wusu city, Emin county, Shawan county, Toli county, Yumin county and the Hoboksar Mongol Autonomous County.
Altay Prefecture (阿å‹'泰地区) has one city and six counties: Altay city, Burqin county, Fuyun county, Fuhai county, Habahe county, Qinggil county and Jeminay county.
