The Qinling Park of 2011 Xi'an International Horticultural Expo saw the new hosts of "four treasures of Qinling Park" Monday morning, including Giant Panda, Golden Monkey, Takin and Crested Ibis.

The animals that entered the park Monday include four pandas, 20 crested ibis, five takins and 10 golden monkeys. Another three pandas are expected to live at the park continually. Of the pandas, the oldest was born in 1997, and the youngest in 2009.

Efforts and preparation were also made to facilitate adaptation by the animals, since they usually live in areas of low temperature, said Ma Qingyi, expert from Shaanxi Wild Animal Rescue and Research Center (SWARC). Equipment such as air-conditioners and artificially-heated water were also installed for their convenience.

Also, professional care personnel was sent to the Expo to accompany the daily life of the animals.

The Xi'an International Horticultural Expo will be held from April 28, 2011 to October 22, 2011 (178 days) at the Guangyun Lake, Chanba Ecological District, Xi'an. The expo's theme is "Eternal peace & harmony between nature & mankind, nurturing the future earth - a city for nature, co-existing in peace", and the slogan: "green leads the trend".
