Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said here Wednesday Ukraine's gross domestic product (GDP) had grown 5 percent in January-April, compared to the same period in 2010.
"During the first four months of this year, the economy has grown, the state budget revenues have also increased compared to the last year," Azarov said during a Cabinet meeting.
According to Azarov, budget revenues grew 21 percent in January-April to nearly $6.25 billion.
Ukraine's economy is heavily dependent on its exports, which make up about 40 percent of its GDP. In the first four months, the country increased its exports of metallurgical products, alumina and some food.
