Born in Shanghai, the 81-year-old artist Ming Cho Lee is a Chinese-born American theatrical set designer and a professor at the Yale School of Drama. Lee has designed more than 20 sets for Broadway shows including King Lear and The Glass Menagerie, as well as for opera and ballet. He received a Tony Award for Best Scenic Design for K2 in 1983. The Shanghai exhibition includes his representative works which were exhibited in his two previous retrospective shows in New York and Taipei, as well as some new pieces from 1997 to 2005.
