A still from The Symphony of Destiny.
Romance TV series
The Symphony of Destiny, starring Yang Mi, Feng Shaofeng and Chi Shuai, wrapped shooting Tuesday after three months’ filming in Hangzhou, Shanghai and Thailand.
The series is directed by Ke Hanchen, well-known for directing a number of romance series, including
That Love Comes (2010). Set in the fashion world,
Symphony focuses on a girl’s romantic journey of revenge, forgiveness and redemption.
Symphony stars Yang Mi and Fang Shaofeng both rocketed to superstardom after appearing in historical drama
Palace. Again returning to TV, but in markedly different, more modern roles, Yang Mi said she believes people will relate to her portrayal of modern everywoman An Qi.
“She’s a typical post-80s girl, pretty and courageous, who faces a lot of difficulties but comes through with a happy ending,” she said.
The show will hit major satellite TV channels beginning in October.
