The Xinjiang Bureau of Surveying and Mapping recently has drawn up a "Xinjiang Red Tourism Traffic Map" and a "Urumqi Red Tourism Map" for the 90th anniversary of the founding the Communist Party of China (CPC), according to a report from chinanews.com on Wednesday.
The two maps show the locations of major scenic spots from "red" or CPC-related history in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. By reading the "Xinjiang Red Tourism Traffic Map," audiences can learn more about the great achievements and accomplishments of the CPC over the past 90 years, said Liu Geqing, the Party secretary,of the bureau on Wednesday.
The "Urumqi Red Tourism Map" includes the pictures and written descriptions for 19 patriotic education bases in Xinjiang such as the Urumqi Cemetery of Revolutionary Martyrs and the Office of the Eighth Route Army Memorial Hall in Xinjiang. Each map costs 6.5 yuan ($1).
Other provinces, regions, and cities across the country will also introduce similar Red Tourism maps in a week, according to the report.
