British alternative rock band Suede will perform in Beijing and Shanghai next month as part of their world tour to celebrate the band’s reunion.
Formed in London in 1989, Suede is no stranger to Chinese audiences and has attracted a sizeable following for a British pop act. The five-man band gave their debut China performance in Beijing in 2003, but broke up later that year.
Frontman Brett Anderson later performed at Modern Sky’s Strawberry Music Festival in Beijing alone last year, but did not sing many classic Suede songs.
This time, Suede’s most well-known songs – including such hits as “So Young”, “Trash” and “Saturday Night” – are all on the setlist and will be performed by the original five members.
The performances will take place at Beijing’s Workers’ Gymnasium on August 7, followed by the Shanghai show on August 9 at the Shanghai Grand Stage.
