Geely and Yazaki Sogyo Kabushiki Kaisha, one of the world's largest wiring harness companies, have reached an agreement to set up a joint venture in China, marking another solid step made by Geely's supply chain towards being a global firm. Wiring harnesses enable cars to optimize space and also greatly reduce the risk of electrical problems.

The joint venture company will combine production efficiency and craft with international advanced technology and position the company as a flagship in environment protection. Starting from July 2012, the company will begin to supply Geely and its sub-brands with the necessary wiring harnesses. By 2016, the company will be employing 3,500 staff with annual operating revenue of 1 billion yuan.

With bases in 39 countries, 10 factories in China and annual revenue of $20 billion, Yazaki hopes it can further expand its market share in China's automotive market through this cooperation with Geely.

In July of this year, Yazaki Shinji, the proprietor of Yazaki, together with Suzuki Tetsuro, its managing director and general representative officer in China, visited Geely headquarters.

During the talk, the two sides shared common views on the auto's future and the new energy field. Yazaki Shinji has spoken highly of Geely's achievements in recent years as well as his eagerness to cooperate with Geely.
