Expected price: 9.5 million to 12.98 million ($1.48 million to $2 million)

Models of Mercedes-Benz's upmarket luxurious counterpart Maybach were witnessed leading the wedding fleet of Hong Kong celebrity couple Carina Lau (Liu Jialing) and Tony Leung (Liang Chaowei), who were married in the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan on July 21, 2008, and now, the company has unveiled an armored version of its long-wheelbase limousine for those who want to combine hardcore safety with the same luxury demanded by an ideal bridal car.

Called the Maybach Guard, this new vehicle features an integrated safety system based on armor made of highly-specialized steel and high-tech Kevlar. Sounds pretty hefty, but in reality, the armor only adds 460 kilograms to the car's total weight, so no changes had to be made to the drive train, suspension or braking system.

The car will not only offer higher protection, but it will also be the only armored car in the world to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 5.7 seconds.

Updates for 2011 include a restyled exterior with a raised hood, larger grille, divided bumper, LED daytime running lights and darker tail lenses. Interior changes include 925 sterling silver badging in seat backrests, new seat stitching and new interior colors, trims and paints.
