Mainland singer Murong Xiaoxiao and Taiwanese pop duo Ban Zhuo Er Ren Zu, who both enjoy wide popularity thanks to the huge Internet fanbase for their songs, released three new collaborations over the weekend in Beijing.
The songs, “Xing Hua Yu (The Rains)”, “Shui Gaosu Ni Wo Ai Guo Ni (Who Told You I Loved You)” and “Fengkuang Ai Ai Ai (Crazy in Love)”, were penned by musicians from the mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan, including well-known Hong Kong producer and composer Lin Jialiang, and were jointly produced by the Livetion Record Company, Huashun Yiheng Media Company and Dongsheng Music Studio.
Murong rose to national fame thanks to her 2009 hit “Ai Qing Mai Mai (The Deal of Love)”, which was released via the Internet, while Ban Zhuo Er Ren Zu, comprised of singers Feng Weijie and Long Liwei, became popular for their song about a cyber-themed love story, which won various awards and became the most popular song on many mobile download lists last year.
Murong said this collaboration marked her first time working with artists from Hong Kong and Taiwan.
