Chinese actress Fan Bingbing said Friday she is honored to play legendary Chinese imperial concubine Yang Guifei for a second time in her acting career, in a film to be jointly made by South Korea, China and Japan.

In a press conference held on the sidelines of the Busan International Film Festival, the actress said Yang Guifei, Emperor Xuanzong's concubine and a renowned beauty of the Tang Dynasty, is a heroine that every Chinese actress dreams to play, and thereby she is glad and honored.

Fan already has the experience of playing Yang Guifei in a TV series before, and told at the press conference that she has been contemplating a lot about how to present a different Yang Guifei this time.

"I will discuss with the director whether to make some changes to my appearance, including gaining more weight, and will try to play a Yang Guifei that the director wants," said Fan.

The movie, "Yang Gui Fei", will be directed by "My Sassy Girl" filmmaker Kwak Jae-yong of South Korea, and filming is planned to begin on Nov. 15.

When asked why he chose Fan as the heroine of the movie, Kwak said he was confident that the true image of Yang Guifei, who still attracts many curiosities about her real self, could be shown through Fan.

The director said he wants to depict Yang Guifei as a woman of the time, who was both loved and suffered.

The 15 million US dollars blockbuster is expected to be unveiled to the public in next year.
