Tonight in the Forbidden City Concert Hall, conductor Helmuth Rilling, the most respected interpreter of the musician Johann Sebastian Bach, will present to Chinese audiences a grand concert with the Gächinger Kantorei and the Bach-Collegium Stuttgart, which were founded by Rilling in 1954 and 1965, respectively.

Many European composers of the 19th century were dedicated to the revival of Bach's music, and this concert features Mahler's arrangement of Bach's Suite for String Orchestra, Harpsichord and Organ. This performance marks the work's premiere in China.
