Liu Yi's Solo Exhibition

The Toronto-based Chinese painter Liu Yi has been described as an explorer somewhere between surrealism and pop art, and was listed as one of the top 10 artists in Canada by the specialty arts channel Bravo! This is his first solo tour in China and Shanghai is the second stop on the tour. More than 30 oil paintings are on show, including his best-known work 2008-Beijing, which features women of different nationalities playing mahjong.

Dragon Zodiac Exhibition

The Chinese Spring Festival heralded the beginning of the Year of the Dragon, one of the 12 animal zodiacs according to the Chinese lunar calendar. At this exhibition, paintings, calligraphy and paper cuttings all centering on the dragon are on display. Works from Jinshan farmers' collective of painters are also being shown.

Ballet Dance Nijinsky

This ballet is choreographed by John Neumeier and is performed by the Hamburg State Opera House. It tells the story of the great Russian ballet dancer Vaslav Nijinsky and re-creates his virtuosity and the depth and intensity of his artistic characterizations.

Song Siheng Multimedia Piano Concert

Shanghai native Song Siheng will perform a multimedia piano concert to celebrate this year's Valentine's Day. As one of the most promising pianists of his generation, the 31-year-old has won numerous awards at both home and abroad. At the concert, Song will perform a selection of classical music from Chopin, Debussy and Beethoven.

Book Launch

The Suited Monk: A Guide to Life Purpose and Happiness is the first book written by Raf Adams about his time in Asia.
