Last year at the Shanghai Auto Show, Geely's concept car the McCar, aka "Moca", gained great acclaim. This year, Geely brings an updated version of McCar to the 2012 Beijing Auto Show. The most attractive feature of McCar is a built-in motorbike.
The first-generation McCar hit Auto Shanghai for its genius design to park a wheelchair and a folding bicycle inside. The new edition, measured 3.7m in length, is more fascinating. Based on the 2011 model, its cleverly-designed seats make it more spacious, with extra room for a stroller and a motorbike. According to Geely's engineers, the built-in motorbike has a plug-in device, which can be charged by the car or from independent power source. To make it more convenient, the motorbike can fit in an elevator.
McCar is designed in modular structure and is highly customizable to select any of the modules among motorbike, stroller, wheelchair and folding bicycle. To make the McCar environmental-friendly, it is equipped with a combustion engine and a plug-in hybrid, which ensure complementary use of power and four-wheel drive.
McCar is developed as a mass-production model and has obtained more than 60 patents.
