The city's food and safety watchdog said that no Lipton tea bags containing high levels of toxic pesticides were discovered on store shelves last year during routine checks.
New batches of tea from this year's testing, meanwhile, were still being inspected Wednesday.
The consumption safety of the tea bags has been questioned recently, after a Greenpeace report exposed that select Chinese tea bags produced by the US company contained high levels of toxic pesticides.
The city's tea passed last year's tests with a 90-percent rate, according to local authorities.
