World record holder Im Dong Hyun led the south Korean team to win both men's individual and team competitions at Lord's Cricket Ground on Friday's London Olympic Games, refreshing the world records by large margin on both competitions.

Im, who set his last world record by 696 points in May 2012, scored 699 points to get the first position. Im's teammates Kim Bubmin and Oh Jin Hyek booked the second and third place respectively.

With the top-three performance, the South Korean team totaled 2087 points, improving the world record by 18 points, and the Olympic record by 56 points.

"This is just the first round so I will not get too excited by it," said Im.

Im competed in the previous two Olympics, helping South Korea to keep the throne on men's team event. However, the 26-year-old failed to get any medal on men's individual event on either Games.

"I was satisfied with their performance and I hope they will keep hot-handed in the coming days," commented South Korean coach Jang Young Sool.

The new record holder Im was known as one of the best archer on the globe, but also as a "blind" guy.

Im has 20/100 vision in his right eye and 20/200 in his left eye, meaning he was legally blind in his left eye and needs to get much closer to see clearly with the right one.

"I've practised using glasses before but actually it makes me feel less comfortable," said Im who refused to wear glasses for his competition.

"When I look down the range at the target all I can do is try to distingguishi between the different colors."

France, scoring 46 fewer points than the South Korean team, was listed the second in the team event, and China got the third place.
